These photos were taken the day of the attack. President Roosevelt declared war on Japan the following day. The photos of the attack were not made available to the public until exactly one year later, December 7, 1942. It wasn't until the later part of 1942 that we began to recover our momentum. The year 1942 was a year of defeats, fear and suffering for Americans and our Allies.

The best way to view these photos is to be patient and wait for all the thumbnail photos to complete. That should make it quicker to see the larger photos.
